WHAT CONDITIONS ARE COVERED BY THIS SERVICE?
Sinusitis
Head congestion, facial pain, pressure, and runny nose for over 7 days
Sore throat
Pain or scratching sensation in the throat, difficulty swallowing, and swollen glands
Earache
Sudden and severe earache accompanied by fever, hearing loss, or difficulty sleeping.
Infected insect bites
Red, swollen, painful, or hot bites from insects like mosquitoes, bees, or spiders.
Impetigo
Contagious skin infection with red, crusty sores, usually around the mouth or nose.
Shingles
Painful rash with blisters caused by the varicella-zoster virus, usually on one side of the body.
Urinary Infections ("Cystitis")
Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women: Burning pain during urination, frequent urination, and urgency to urinate.
HOW TO ACCESS THE SERVICE:
Walk-ins to the pharmacy are welcome, or call for a phone person consultation. (Note: the Earache service can only be carried out if you attend the pharmacy)
Altitude Sickness
You can get altitude sickness if you travel to a high altitude too quickly. Breathing becomes difficult and it can become a medical emergency if ignored. Our pharmacist can provide medication to prevent and treat the condition. Coming soon.
Antimalarials
Malaria can be life-changing and in some instances can be fatal. Tablets to prevent malaria are recommended.
Avoid being bitten as no antimalarial tablets are 100% effective.
There are a range of different treatments available; our travel health pharmacist can advise you on the most appropriate choice for you.
Chicken Pox
Chickenpox, is a viral infection. It’s highly contagious and is spread through coughing, sneezing, and direct contact. Symptoms include red itchy spots, blisters a high temp (over 38 degrees C), loss of appetite and aches and pains.
We provide a private vaccination service. Suitable for children over the age of 1 year.
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B is an infection of the liver. It is caused by a virus that is spread through contact with infected blood and bodily fluids.
You should consider being vaccinated against hepatitis B if you will be visiting countries where the hepatitis B virus is common; and if your planned activities mean you might be high risk of exposure to the virus. Coming soon. Coming soon.
Jet Lag
Jet lag is when your normal sleep pattern is disturbed after a long flight. Symptoms, which include include tiredness, confusion and lethargy, Simple lifestyle changes and / or prescription for melatonin, a naturally occurring hormone, can help. Speak to our travel health pharmacist for more advice. Coming soon.
Measles
Measles usually starts with cold-like symptoms, followed by a rash a few days later. The MMR vaccine can prevent measles. It also protects you from mumps and rubella.
The MMR vaccine is offered to all children in the UK. 2 doses can give lifelong protection against measles, mumps, and rubella. Coming soon.
Meningitis ACWY
This vaccine is required for pilgrimage of Hajj and Umrah. A certificate which we can provide, is required to enter the country for pilgrimage. A single dose is all that is required 2-3 weeks before travel. Protection lasts for around 5 years.
Meningitis B
Meningitis is a serious, potentially fatal, infection caused by bacteria or a virus.
Bacterial meningitis can cause brain damage, deafness, blindness, epilepsy, blood poisoning and can even be fatal.
No vaccine is 100 percent effective but getting vaccinated can help to protect you.
MMR Vaccination
Our MMR vaccination service can help to protect you against measles, mumps and rubella. - diseases you may come across when travelling. Two doses for full protection (the second dose is given at least four weeks after the first).
Pneumococcal
The pneumococcal (pneumonia) vaccine protects against serious and potentially fatal pneumococcal infections. The pneumonia vaccine can prevent you from becoming seriously ill. It’s given as a single injection. You can walk-in or book an appointment online. At your appointment we’ll ask some medical questions.
Shingles Vaccine
Shingles is a painful rash caused by a viral infection. Our vaccination service can protect against shingles and comprises just two two doses. It’s suitable for people 50+ years. Coming soon.
Traveller’s Diarrhoea
Travellers' diarrhoea is spread mainly through food and water, but also from person to person
Symptoms include; loose bowel, fever, tummy cramps, urgent need to pass bowel motion, nausea or vomiting. It can cause dehydration and rehydration sachets can counter this in mild cases.

You can collect your prescription medication from the pharmacy. You can choose to pick it up in person or, in some cases, have it delivered to your home.
We do not charge the elderly or housebound for prescription delivery.
For everybody else we charge a flat fee of £7.50 within a THREE MILE radius of the pharmacy and irrespective of the number of items on your prescription.
